Retention in Orthodontics: Challenges and Collaboration with General Practitioners

The Hérault Association for Continuing Dental Education (AFOCH) is organizing a continuing education conference on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Mercure Hotel in Montpellier. The conference will be led by Prof. Michel Le Gall and will focus on“orthodontic retention,”a key factor in the long-term stability of treatments.
Special attention will be given to the central role of the general dentist: monitoring devices, preventing detachment and complications, periodontal follow-up, and detecting minor recurrences. Technological innovations (custom retainers, digital design) will also be presented, paving the way for enhanced collaboration between specialists and general dentists.
