Orthodontic retention: challenges and collaboration with general practitioners

The Hérault Association for Continuing Dental Education (AFOCH) is organizing a continuing education conference on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., at the Mercure Hotel in Montpellier, led by Prof. Michel Le Gall on the topic of "orthodontic retention,"which is key to the long-term stability of treatments.
Special focus will be placed on the central role of general practitioners: checking devices, preventing detachments and complications, periodontal monitoring, and detecting minor recurrences. Technological innovations (custom-made retainers, digital design) will also be presented, paving the way for enhanced collaboration between specialists and general practitioners.
