IFRO Symposium

The French Institute for Dental Research (IFRO) invites you to attend a symposium on February 5, 2025, dedicated to the dual theme: “Biomarkers and Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry: From Academic Research to Industry Applications.”
This event will be hosted by Marjolaine Gosset, Scientific Chair, and Jacques-Olivier Pers, President of IFRO.
Two faculty members from the School of Dentistry will present their research there:
- Prof. Christophe Hirtz – Institute for Regenerative Medicine & Biotherapy, Montpellier
Topic: New quantitative omics approaches highlight breakthroughs in biomarker discovery in oral science: physiological and pathological applications.
- Dr. Margaux Vignon – INM, LBPC-PPC, University of Montpellier – INSERM
Topic: The contribution of mass spectrometry to personalized periodontology.
Two half-days filled with lively discussions, featuring oral presentations and panel discussions.
The first half-day will be devoted to biomarkers, while the afternoon will focus on artificial intelligence (AI).
Each topic will be introduced by a renowned international expert:
- Prof. Rui Vitorino (Portugal), a specialist in salivary biomarkers for oral cancer.
- Prof. Reinhilde Jacobs (KU Leuven University, Belgium), who founded a startup based on her research in AI.
