Montpellier , June 10,2022 - 5 students in their 3rd year of dental surgery, in collaboration with the Tsiky association, are organizing a humanitarian trip this summer 2022.

For several months, Fitiavana RAKOTOVAO, in charge of solidarity at the CECDM, has been working with 4 friends on a humanitarian project in Madagascar to set up various preventive actions for Madagascan children during a trip planned for July 2022.

Aims of the trip: To detect and treat oral diseases through fluoridation and fissure sealing, and to run a prevention campaign for Madagascan children in two Majunga schools.

This project is in partnership with the TSIKY association, committed to children's health and education. For the past 10 years, Tsiky has enabled every child to benefit from a healthcare system with rapid, free access to treatment. In figures, there are almost 4,500 beneficiary children in 6 public elementary school. The objectives for 2025 are to work with 8,000 children in 10 schools.

The fund-raising began with an online kitty, and really took off with the sale of pins during the gala organized by ADDAM on June 4 at the Domaine de Grandmont. This action raised almost €200, a considerable sum to bring the necessary equipment for the mission planned in 1 month's time.

On July 1, the students are organizing a gala event to continue their mission and reach their goal of raising €2,000. The event will take place at the Villa Sup'Perform, run by Antony JULIA, one of the project's main sponsors.

A Malagasy group will be on hand to introduce you to the culture, and typical dishes will be served for a truly authentic immersion experience.

The gala will enable us to promote this mutual aid and fraternity project by achieving the fundraising objective." We look forward to seeing many of you there to support our project. You too can help us keep Malagasy children smiling," says Fitiavana Rakotovao.
